The WaMiSAR team conducted a series of sampling activities in Namibia in September. These field campaigns followed the WASA kick-off meeting in Stellenbosch, South Africa, where the WaMiSAR project was presented to German and African government representatives and stakeholders.

From 14.06.2024 to 21.06.2024, Dr. Flavia Digiacomo from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Rosa Sengl from the University of Potsdam (UP) and Lena-Sophie Kuhr from Impact Catalyst carried out the first sampling in South Africa.

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is funding the WaMiSAR joint project for the "Water Security in Africa" (WASA) funding measure as part of the federal "Water: N" program. Water: N is part of the BMBF's "Research for Sustainability (FONA)" strategy.
